Whilst living in the USA, I have spent extended time in California. The Pacific Coast Highway from Santa Monica up to Big Sur is one of my favourite stretches of road on the planet. I am wholly obsessed with SoCal architecture & interiors – 1970’s beach bungalows, masculine but minimal interiors, and palm trees for as far as the eye can see. The surfboard to me epitomizes masculine meeting feminine, the material strong and the shape curved, I then combine the same juxtaposition with colors and finishes. I live in an old converted storage factory loft, in New York Meatpacking district. When I was designing jewellery, I would have my design desk set up in my apartment and kept the interiors very light and bright , with lots of greenery.
