After a proposal above the New York skyline, Kristi wed her high-school sweetheart Ben by the sea in Port Douglas; a location she had been dreaming of since childhood.

Towards the blue ocean backdrop of the ceremony, Kristi was accompanied down the aisle by her dad and brother, indicative of the special bond shared by the family.

Kristi and Ben have known each other since they were wee teenagers, (so young that Kristi can’t even recall their first meeting!) Such a relationship deserves a proposal story of epic proportions, which Ben managed to surpass when he popped the question during their hot New York minute, atop the Empire State Building! The couple held their wedding in a location a little closer to home, the tropical coastal town of Port Douglas. Eighty of their closest friends and family joined them for their big day, set in the charming white chapel overlooking the sea.

From start to finish, Kristi and Ben’s romantic pastel colour palette was implemented in every detail of the wedding. The crisp white wedding invitations had a soft splash of watercolour and pink floral details adorned the corners, custom designed by Ink Hearts Paper. The bridesmaids tied in beautifully with the palette in their blush pink off-the-shoulder dresses from Rodeo Show, perfectly complimenting the blue of the groomsmen’s suits.

Kristi was an exquisite vision in her strapless Jane Hill gown, finished in lace and a stunning scalloped edging. Nude shoes and SAMANTHA WILL jewels were the perfect finishing touches to the ensemble.

The guests enjoyed Mr and Mrs Carr’s reception by the pier amid the stunning florals of the occasion. And although the roses, orchids and greenery were a stunning feature to the space, the real attraction was the backdrop of the beautiful water. Guests (when they weren’t up on the dancefloor) feasted on platters along the beautiful banquet tables, laid out beneath strings of fairy lights.

As a self-confessed sweet tooth, Kristi was in her element choosing the wedding cake! The bride, along with the help of her new hubby and their 80 guests, enjoyed the gold dipped rich chocolate mud cake, complete with buttercream icing.

The DJ kept the guests on their feet late into the night - the perfect note on which to end the celebrations before the couple jetted off on their honeymoon.

*One thing Kristi wished she'd known before starting the planning? Don't add up what you have already spent on the wedding... you don't want to know!
