Don’t be afraid to show emotions! Some truly beautiful photos can be captured when emotions are set free. - SW Bride Brooke
It was a High School party and a mistaken MySpace message that brought Brooke and Josh together. Josh - or ‘JB’ as he had introduced himself - left a memorable impression on Brooke when they first met at the tender age of 15; who described him as a “complete gentleman.” Intrigued to know more after they went their separate ways, Brooke attempted to stalk the curious ‘JB’ but failed to find any matches. The stalking was mutual as JB had also been searching for Brooke...
After arranging a time to meet, Josh was beside himself with excitement and couldn’t wait to share the news with his friends - sending them a message about how he was finally seeing the gorgeous blonde girl…but the message didn't go to his friend, he accidentally sent it to Brooke.
The first major step in cementing their relationship (quite literally) was building their dream house. It was this milestone that Josh turned into a proposal; writing out that special question in the wet concrete slab of their future home - with zero hesitation, Brooke engraved a huge ‘Yes’ in response.
Situated in the picturesque mountaintops of Middle-Ridge Queensland, Gabbinbar Homestead was the location of choice for Brooke and Josh. The decision was an easy one, as the homestead offered the complete package from ceremony through to reception. With lush green gardens surroundings, the homestead was every bit as magical as it was breathtaking and the couple knew they wouldn’t have to venture much further for their photos.
Not a detail was missed when designing the wedding of their dreams. The use of crisp white flowers with hints of lilac and lush greenery achieved their overall timeless glamour theme for the wedding, and this was consistent throughout. From the bridesmaid dresses, the wedding favours, groomsmen’s attire and the wedding cake all subtly and stylishly picking up hints of the lilac tones.
The reception, located in the Conservatory of the Homestead was extravagantly adorned with more glorious greenery and white floral arrangements, along with large magnolia leaves (many of which were handpicked from Brooke's parent's gardens) and white orchids fluttered delicately from the glass roof - creating an intimate atmosphere as the sun set.
A cherished moment:
When reminiscing on the magical day, a few cherished memories came to mind that Brooke holds dear. One being the tradition of her Grandfather gifting one of his treasured gramophones to each grandchild on their wedding day. This tradition was made a focal point at the reception, as well as precious photos from the bride and groom's parent’s wedding celebrations. Late family members were also a celebrated part of the occasion, with a lit candle in memory of each of them.
Brooke's intricate lace dress was made even more special with the wedding and engagement rings of her Grandmother, Great Grandmother and Aunty all sewn into the dress.
