Be happy, be stressed, get drunk and have a cry. The things that you have spent years growing and building, everyone will be there to celebrate that. - SW Bride, Bec
The first dance
Like something out of a movie, Bec swears that everything slowed down the moment Andy first walked into the nightclub. The pair were there with mutual friends when they first met, and that initial attraction was enough to secure a swapping of phone numbers (and possibly a first kiss, it's still open for debate!) Fast forward 8 years, and the now-couple were holidaying in Singapore, when Andy took Bec to the Super Trees for a sunset surprise. Against the stunning backdrop, he popped the question, beautiful ring in hand - she, of course, said yes!
Hidden in the heart of Fremantle is the rustic beauty of Distribution Lane - the dream venue for Bec and Andy. In the bride's own words, the appeal of this venue was the endless possibilities of its ‘blank canvas’. The couple could make it their own, and they certainly did - opting for dim mood lighting against the brickwork, creating a warm intimate vibe to the space. Rather than moving the group on to a different reception venue, the couple chose to stay for the ceremony and reception, ensuring guests could stay and celebrate around the cocktail tables that filled the place.
Before 100 of their friends and family, Bec and Andy said their 'I Do's' in front of an incredible backdrop of rustic brick, a floral covered arbour, and beneath strings of moody lights. In a stunning chiffon and tulle Lilian West gown, Bec was joined by her beautiful bridesmaids in their unique Grecian gowns, with the trio each carrying cascading bouquets of Australian natives, bush nuts and eucalyptus. The gents donned sports jackets and chinos, tying in perfectly with the indie vibes of the day.
To ensure the celebrations never stopped, guests were treated to decadent grazing and dessert tables, including an exquisite 2 tiered salted caramel wedding cake, adorned with florals and white and rose gold painted drip. An acoustic singer welcomed the newlyweds for their first dance as Mr and Mrs to their song - Big Jet Plane by Angus and Julia Stone before the DJ had everyone on the dancefloor for the rest of the evening's celebrations.
Pressed for a favourite moment of the day, Bec and Andy agreed that the day itself was pure bliss and made up of too many perfect moments to pick just one.
