We like to take tradition & put our spin on it. The beauty look for our recent media launch, to present our ‘After Dusk’ collection (available August 20) was no different.
We enlisted Bridal makeup guru, Tobi Henney – Founder & Director of The Bridal Makeup Co. We had 5 models lounging in a styled area, so guests could see our key pieces worn. Rather then all nude & cream colours, we took the look a bit gothic luxe.
‘We wanted to create a luminous, fresh makeup look with a deep berry toned lip for the SW Bridal Launch. Sculpting was key, using Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze & glow for defined cheekbones.’ Henney says. ‘Luscious lashes were created by curling with the Shu Uemura lash curler and two coats of Benefit They're Real Mascara. To combat shine in the T-zone, MAC Mineralize Skin Finish Powder was dusted lightly down the centre of the face. The deep berry lip was the finishing touch, mixing MAC Plum Palette in Hang Up and Cyber.’
After seeing photos of ELLE magazine editor, Justine Cullen’s wedding, where she opted for dark nails, I have been obsessed with this ever since. So under the director of nail expert, Miss Betty Rose, a noir nail was created for the look, with a fine gold line drawn across the ring finger.
Its little details like this that can accent a look, without breaking (too much) tradition.
